Happy Birthday Jessika!

I just want to wish my wonderful wife a happy birthday.  Today she is 26.  She does so much for our little family and I love her so much for it.  Here are some pictures from our time together.

Children say the darndest things...

I was helping out in primary this past Sunday playing a role as Samuel the Lamanite from the Book of Mormon to teach about prophets.  The teachers were trying to set the stage by asking the children who has seen the news when their parents watch it at night.  Most of the children raise their hand, confirming they have seen the news.  Then the teacher asked, "what do you see on the news?"  The children respond by saying things like, "storms" and "sports" and then "weather".  Then one kid blurts out "Obama!".  I couldn't help but laugh out loud.  The point of the news reference was for kids to get to weather, then for the teachers to ask if they know what it will be like in a year, then introduce the purpose of prophets.

Rehearsal Dinner

Kristi had Jackson eating some cheese dip.  He was starving and was going to town on it.  Caden was running about with Mickey not really interested in eating just yet.

More pictures from Julia's wedding...

Here is a pic of the sun setting while we were on a little boat ride just after the ceremony and before the reception.  Sure miss those beautiful sunsets.

More pictures of Jackson, he was a photographer's dream.  Just full of life and cuteness.  Making every shot easy.
Family photo.  Jackson, of course not happy about being held still for a little while.  What you can't see is his gun in my other hand behind Jessika.  Poor Caden, not feeling well.  He was a trooper the whole evening.
Just Jessika and Jacob, being cute and perfect for the photo.

Julia's wedding

Here is Jacob at the wedding, awake blowing a bubble with his spit up.  He and Jackson shared the same suit from newsies, complete with cap and suspenders.  The only thing they were missing were some "pape's".

Caden served as a ring bearer.  He did good, he got a little fidgety toward the end (or rather the middle) of the ceremony and was playing with the pillow while the ceremony was going on.  He did good though despite being a little under the weather.

Jackson had a great time and loved his outfit so long as we didn't take his toy gun away from him.  He loved wearing the hat and running around the grounds.
The complete outfit, including the aforementioned gun.

Intramural Champs: back to back years

Here are some pictures from our championship victory last night.  We had quarter finals and then right after we had the championship.  We had to cater to the med school students because they had "tests", yeah, well we're all in school who doesn't?  We played the 1st year med school students (again) for the championship.  Their opponent didn't show up for the quarter final game so they got to sit and watch us play before having to play us.  The weather wasn't that bad, it was cloudy and a little windy which did affect our deep throws.  But in the end, neither the wind nor the winers could stop this PT freight train.  We are undefeated in two years of playing.  Click here to see last year's team.

Primary Program

Here are the boys before church.  It is Caden's first primary program.  He is so excited he has his part memorized: "The Book of Mormon and Bible testify of Jesus Christ."  Caden looked so handsome standing up there.  He had a big smile on his face, while waving to us.  Jackson wanted to be up there too, he kept waving to Caden and saying his name.  Seeing Caden up there brought tears to my eyes.  He brings so much joy to my life.

Caden the "Pumpkin"

Here is the Cade-ster in the same pumpkin suit at 3 weeks.  This was Halloween 2004.  We took his picture in some Fall leaves near the BYU campus.  How cute.

Happy Halloween

Our Jacob was the "Pumpkin."  This costume was worn by Caden at 3 weeks old.  Jacob was the best Halloween baby.  He slept from 2:30- 7:15 p.m.  He slept through trick-or-treating.  That is why he was not in the photo with Caden and Jackson, we didn't want to wake the poor pumpkin up.  So here he is a few days after Halloween in his pumpkin suit.

Caden wanted a new Halloween costume this year.  Even though he had a cowboy, spiderman, and buzz lightyear costume.  I told him he needed to earn a new Halloween costume.  I made up a task chart for one week.  The tasks included: make bed, clean up toys, write name, read book of mormon with family, read 2 books with mom, put bike away, and wash hands.  If he completed all tasks for one week I would take him to get a new costume.  We started the chart on Sunday before Halloween.  He completed Sunday-Thursday with some hit and misses.  But overall he did really well.  So on Friday (Halloween) we all ventured to Target to pick out a costume.  It was all picked over, of course.  He wanted a Superman, but no luck.  We ended up with an enormous Batman costume.  The good news is he can wear it for at least a few years.  So we have a Batman and a cowboy.
Caden and his friends ran to every house and Nick and Jackson walked together at Jackson's pace to every house.  It was so funny, Jackson would have to hold his candy in his hand to every house and then he would switch it with a new candy that he would get.  He would put his previous candy in the bowl of the new received candy and he would do that at every house.  Nick would try to tell him to put the candy in his bag, but he wouldn't do it.
Here we are going to a friends Halloween party.  Caden was a cowboy and Jackson was buzz lightyear.

Super daddy and Super Jackson

Enjoying the Superman Party aftermath, I caught daddy and Jackson being supermen with their "S" on their chest.
We tried to get Cadester to pose with Jacks, but no luck.  Superman with his blanky:)

Superman Party

Sorry, the pictures loaded in the wrong sequential order.  Here is Caden posing with his remote control cars.  He again said, "one for me and one for Jackson."  He always watches out for his younger bro.
Instead of a Donut on a string eating contest, a licorice on a string eating contest.  This one doesn't have the mess factor.  It was hilarious watching them go at it.
Here are all the supermen and superwomen.  We also played pin the "S" on Superman.  Jackson was unsure of the blindfold.  We let it slide and allowed him to peek.
Caden and his friends doing "super" poses.
More "super" poses.

Happy 4th Birthday Caden

This was taken before his Pre-School class.  Thank you Nana for his "stylin" outfit.

"Tummy Time"

Whenever it is "Tummy Time" for Jacob, Caden comes running to lay next to his brother.  Caden always likes to put his nose up to Jacobs.  Caden always looks out for Jacob whenever Jacob has a burp Caden gets a burp cloth and cleans his mouth off.  He is a great helper, and so sweet to his new brother.
Jackson on the other hand, is wild and crazy when it is Jacob's "Bummy Time" (in Jackson's words).  He runs over and plops himself down next to "Bay-Bub."  I need to always have a close eye on Mr. Jacks because who knows what he will do to Jacob.  He tries to be so sweet, bless his heart, but sometimes it is not.

"Girls Week" 2008

My dear mother and sister spent a week in Salt Lake with me and the boys.  It was a blast.  We did 2 crafts.  A Happy Birthday banner and wooden decorative plaques of all the seasons/holidays to hang on the door.  So cute and so easy.  I just love my mom and sister.  I am so grateful that we can get together once a year and make some fun memories.  Love you mom and Sarah, you are both the best.

Sorry for the lack of pics.  This is the only one I took, I seemed to never have my camera when I needed it.

I got a prescription for more Cowboy (bell)

Jackson is finding his little fingers don't quite reach the trigger, but all is not lost.

Jackson got the outfit on and said, "EEHA, AHBOY"(yeeha, cowboy).  He just loved the outfit.
Just looking for his horse.  He was so happy with the hat and gun.  All day today he wore his holster with his belt.  He never wanted it off.

For the main event

Caden got from us a two pistol cap gun set complete with a belt and matching holsters.  Upon opening it and seeing the two guns he yells out, "YES, one for me and one for Jackson!".  We were so proud of him to see it that way and Jackson couldn't've (is this even legal?) been happier!  (Yes, Kristin this picture is for you.)

Two cute cowboys!
Now we're getting serious, things are warming up.
Time to see how this holster works.
"This town ain't big enough for the two of us."  What do you think was going through this cowboy kids mind?  Not sure how I lucked out on snapping this photo complete with the pose but it sure worked out.  Looks like he pulling up his britches.
