Fun pics...

Here is a recent photo of Jacob.  He's awake and surprised his aunt Lana is holding him.  Thanks Lana for having us over for dinner.

Here are some recent photos from the past week.  We had a ward activity at our Bishop's house and Heidi took some sweet pics.  Thanks Heidi.

Caden had a great time in the pool with a life jacket.  He had not worn one before, and it was like he chose the "blue pill" from the Matrix.  No longer any regard for the danger of water.  He was liberated!  And he loved it!

CANNON BALL!!  Look out, here comes a ripple.
His front flip, not bad for a 3 year old.  He would roll out in the water and he thought he was the man!  Of course he was.

What's in a name...

We've had much inquiry as to the name our infant addition.  First of all thank you all for the support and love.  We really appreciate it.

Jessika and I stewed over the name for this fury fetus all during her pregnancy.  I still wanted Cash (round 2) but she didn't want an accountant being named Cash Hunter (or any professional really).  She wanted Ryan, but I exercised my veto powers because all growing up I had like 2-3 Ryans in my class, only one of which I liked.  So we put up a poll, as some of you have noticed on our blog (apparently too late) for some input into our cute quandary.  Although Chase won by popular vote, our last name yet again let to the downfall of a Chase dynasty now since our nephew (Dana's son) is named Hunter.  Chase Hunter becomes a command, not a name.

So (sigh...) back to the drawing board.  The poll names were evidence of the names we liked.

We decided on JACOB RYAN HUNTER.

I couldn't shake my imprinting on Jacob while reading and enjoying the Twighlight series so when Jessika suggested Jacob I already liked it.  Plus, as one of my friends said, Jacob is the name of the great Book of Mormon prophet.  Then when we add Ryan in the middle it was a win-win...-win (according to Michael Scott).

Here HE is...

Check out this hair!!

This is after his bath!

He was born at 1:40 AM, weighing in at 9 lbs, 6 oz and 21 1/2 inches long.  Jessika was able to do it naturally using hypnobirthing.  Both mother and baby are doing great

Labor...

Jessika's water broke at 8:30 while she was putting the kids down to sleep.  It caught us off guard a bit but we knew what to do... panic!  No actually we got to the hospital about an hour later after arrangements were made with Uncle Gary and Aunt Ty to be with the boys.  They were really excited, didn't know really what to think.

When we got here she was checked at 5 cm dilated.  Hypnobirthing has been a great tool and our doula, Katherine got here to help us out.  More to come later...

Bah and the boys

Clayton loves his nephews and they love spending time with him.  This is a little video Jess and I thought was really cute with Bah and the boys.

Jackson in Baltimore with Bah and Kristi

Here is a video of Jackson loving the camera while in the car with Bah, Kristi, Nana, and Wardy.  He was having a blast with seeing himself.

First 5k run!!!

This is what is looked like.  I had the stroller with Jackson while Jessika and Caden rode their bikes.  This was a stake activity, followed by some carnival type games.  We got to the race a little late.  As we were pulling in they started the race, we momentarily thought we should just bag it.  But then what better way to jump start labor than riding a bike for 3.1 miles.  So we registered, got our name tags and started at least 5 minutes after the start.  Caden loves to lead so he was on his bike.  But I think he was still in a sleepy stupor because he was weaving all over the place (race started at 8, kids needed to be woken up at 7:30).  Which was frustrating me trying to push this stroller that doesn't turn well.  Jessika was bring up the rear, just cruising.  After about the first 1/2 mile we made a turn and I could see tons of other racers, whereas before I could only see a few because we were so late.  Since I was in the stroller division, my pupils started dilating, body started to feel good, and a fresh scent of victory rushed through my body.  I thought I could win my division!  So I take off, leaving the swerving Caden with the cruisin' Jessika.  That's when the stroller "not designed for jogging" let me know why, the front wheels started going crazy!  They were unable to stay straight, they would jolt side to side, making it difficult to push and considering the stroller is a week old I didn't want to break it.  My only option was to pop-a-wheelie.  Jackson, loved it... for about 3 minutes then wanted back down.  So I was fighting the stroller, running the race half crouched over the stroller, and now considering I left a 9 month pregnant wife with a 3 year old on a bike weaving in and out of people.  All this motivated me to finish faster, so I pressed on asking every volunteer how many stroller runners were ahead.  When the count was only 1 I got another burst of competitive energy.  Then when nearing the last 200 yards I spotted the last stroller runner, one pushing a double jogging stroller!  I tried to kick it but we had a 90 degree turn that slowed me down and the other guy was fast.  When I finished, I got 2nd then went to try and find my wife.  I started running the course backward to find them.  When I did Caden was done riding his bike, wanted nothing to do with it.  So Caden jumped in the back of our double stroller and I hooked the bike over the handles and we jogged about 3/4 mile to the finish like that.  Jessika did really good and was considering going to the gym later on.  She's such a trooper!  I then got really curious as too who beat me and looked at the board.  I saw he beat me by 10 minutes!  I couldn't believe it because I saw him finish ahead of me.  Then I asked the winner how that was and he said he had ran ahead of his wife too and when he finished he ran back to finish with her, and that's when I saw him.  This dude is a stud, he finished a 5k pushing two kids in 22 minutes!  Overall, it was a really fun race and great activity.

BTW, no baby!  Apparently 5k's don't do the trick.

Camden Yards

Here are some pics of Camden Yards when Jeff played there with the Detroit Tigers.  It's a nice park.

it was a warm day
Jackson was having so much fun with this empty bottle.  He would put it on his feet and then call for Nana to look.  Then repeat about 5-60 times.
